Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.
When I think on these words I always have an image of someone walking along and as they look over their shoulder they see a trail they have left behind of testimony of God’s goodness and mercy. It’s trailing behind them because they are walking through it each step they take. They are experiencing it in the moment.
Often we live our lives and totally miss, overlook or don’t acknowledge that we have experienced God’s mercy and goodness yet His words tell us His mercy is new every morning and in Psalm 23 it follows us all the days of our lives.
Take a moment to reflect, look over your shoulder and give the Lord thanks for the mercy and goodness you have been walking in.
